CTRL, ALT, DELETE Podcast: Episode 5 with Dawn O’Porter

Dawn O’Porter has been my career crush for YEARS. I loved her first non-fiction book Diaries Of An Internet Lover back in 2006, and in 2007 I fell in love with her TV series (Super Slim Me and then Dawn Gets Naked, Dawn Gets A Baby and lots of others). Since then Dawn’s career has really evolved in many ways, with her best-selling novels: Paper Aeroplanes and Goose and now an adult novel series published by Harper Collins. Last year she also launched BOB a vintage clothing line, and has been a helping hand in launching @HelpRefugeesUK which is now the main registered group helping the refugee crisis.

Yassss oh my goodness Dawn hit the nail on the head when she described how she felt , before she realized she wanted a baby, feeling unsatisfied as though she couldn’t entertain herself anymore,….that’s totally how I’m feeling, but I couldn’t articulate it. 🙂 So nice to hear this has been experienced by another women. Great interview, I’ve always had a soft spot for Dawn!

Thank you so much for this episode ! Dawn confirmed my doubts about the refugee crisis. I live in Paris and the problem is so hushed and hidden. I am currently writing to you from a nation-wide news room (franceinfo.fr) where I’m working at the moment and nobody talks about it. I have tried to join associations and the Red Cross but it’s like nobody cares anymore, I don’t understand. The french-syrian association was struggling to figure out how to help and act because the french administration is so complicated. How can there be change if people don’t even acknowledge the problem? Dawn’s is the first realistic approach I’ve heard, so thank you.
