CTRL, ALT, DELETE Podcast: #56 Dolly Alderton

Dolly is an award-winning journalist and writer.

She has written for The Sunday Times, The Sunday Times Style, The Telegraph, GQ, Red, Marie Claire and many many more. Since January 2015, she has been the dating columnist for The Sunday Times Style.

Dolly also writes and directs for TV. She was the story producer for Made In Chelsea and was script assistant on the final series of E4’s Fresh Meat. In 2015, her first short film Anna, Island was accepted to The London Short Film Festival. The film, about a young woman navigating the pitfalls of 20-something life, features a cameo from Kirsty Young and was covered in The Evening Standard.

She writes The Dolly Mail, a weekly newsletter with over 5,000 subscribers. She also co-hosts The Sunday Times Style’s podcast The Pandolly Podcast alongside journalist Pandora Sykes which is returning to your ears end of February.

In this episode, I went round to Dolly’s amazing house in Highgate and ate banana bread. We talked about women we admire, how to stay focussed on the career you want, the challenges of working with friends, why we both love Desert Island Discs and writing from real life.
