World Book Day was my favourite day at school. I remember I got a token and I got to choose a book! THE BUZZ. I still have "Dear Mrs Butler" from one of the first iconic book days, it was on the table and me and another kid were eyeing it up so we decided to read it together on our lunch break.

This charity is so important, and on this day it's important to be aware that this joy of being surrounded by books is not a reality for a lot of people. (1 in 5 in the UK struggle to read and write.) Reading for pleasure is known to be the most reliable predictor of a child’s success in later life.
